AUNUA Youth Academy is developing a new model of learning for children and teenagers who want something different.
Our ambition is simple Put the emotional development and wellbeing of the young person at the heart of learning.
A network of independent, community-based learning clubs across Ireland, supported by a shared AUNUA framework, curriculum, resources, Learning Guides, professional partners and community.
We want to help create a future where children don’t just learn what to think.

For many families, the question is no longer just “Which school?” but “Is the education system actually meeting the needs of my child?”
Wellbeing isn’t an add-on to learning. It is the foundation for it. Emotional development, self-awareness, confidence and belonging are woven into everyday learning from the beginning — helping young people feel safe, understood and ready to grow.
Every young person has a unique intelligence, strengths and potential. We help them discover how they learn best, what energises them, what they care about and how they can use their gifts to create a future with purpose.
Learning should connect with the world beyond the classroom. Through projects, nature, creativity, communication, enterprise, technology and community, young people turn curiosity into experience, skills and real-world impact.
Young people deserve to be heard — not simply taught. Their experiences, ideas and perspectives help shape the learning environment, alongside families and Learning Guides, through safe, meaningful and age-appropriate listening.
Community hubs for a new kind of learning. Learning Guides would facilitate AUNUA’s developing curriculum and resources, supporting the emotional intelligence and development of children and young people while recognising that every child is unique. They understand that children have different strengths, abilities, interests and ways of learning — creating the space for each young person to be understood, supported and encouraged to thrive.
Nurture the gift. Develop the whole person. A holistic approach that places the young person at the centre — nurturing their natural strengths, talents, interests, curiosity and authentic development. Core learning is connected with creativity, technology, nature, enterprise, relationships, life skills and purposeful experiences, helping young people discover what they are capable of and where their gifts can take them.
Recognise. Open. Accept. Reconnect. ROAR begins by helping young people recognise their spark — reclaiming who they are and what makes them unique. It creates space to feel safe, develop a sense of belonging and have the confidence to be themselves; to open up to new possibilities, accept themselves while understanding and valuing difference in others, and reconnect with their sense of purpose, potential and place in the world.
Tools to discover, create and grow. AUNUA is developing a collection of resources, activities, projects and reflective tools to support young people on their journey. From discovering their strengths and exploring their interests to developing ideas, solving problems and making an impact, these resources help turn curiosity into learning and learning into possibility.
The ambition is to create a new educational system built around the young person — not one centralised institution, but a connected network of community-based learning hubs across Ireland.
Each hub would be locally shaped and led by families and Learning Guides, while being supported by a shared AUNUA framework, curriculum resources, learning approach and professional community.
Together, these hubs could create a more flexible, holistic and connected way for young people to learn, grow, discover their strengths and find their ROAR.
AUNUA is creating a connected network of community-based learning hubs across Ireland, shaped around the young people and communities they serve. Each hub brings learning closer to home while connecting families and Learning Guides to a wider AUNUA community, shared resources and learning approach.

Creating a different pathway for learning takes a community. Parents and families, prospective Learning Guides, educators, wellbeing professionals, community partners, organisations, businesses and mentors can all bring valuable experience, ideas and opportunities to the AUNUA Youth Academy.
